La giusta distanza, internationally released as The Right Distance, is a 2007 Italian drama film directed by Carlo Mazzacurati. It is set in the northeast Italian province, a location the director Mazzacurati usually used as a background for his movies. It's the story of a young and attractive elementary school teacher Mara, who is relocated to a little town in the north of Italy. The plot carries out with the reactions of a small community to the arrival of the new teacher. It entered the competition at the second Rome Film Festival. The film was later awarded with a Nastro d'argento for best script, it was also nominated for several David di Donatello awards, including categories for best film and best actress.
